Deputy Superintendent Surrey School District Praxis – Philosophy in Action

The purpose of this blog is to link educational research to practice that is happening in schools particularly in British Columbia, Canada. The intent is to generate a forum for how research can influence practice and vice-versa.

The design of the site is to provide articles that are intended to stimulate thinking for anyone in education but particularly for school and district leaders. The site allows users to link those articles to podcasts if people would rather listen to articles and subscribe to podcasts rather than read text.  The article topics are also supplemented with materials in iTunesU that could be of use to anyone who wished to explore the topics more in-depth individually or in groups. The supplemental iTunesU materials likely will launch in September/October of 2012. The podcasts and iTunes subscriptions are in place now. The site is also friendly for mobile devices.

I am Deputy Superintendent in Surrey School District. Surrey is the largest district in BC and serves a diverse and rapidly growing urban community.

The comments on this blog represent my own views and not those of the district or the Surrey Board of Education.
