Schools Matter and Teachers Care

IgniteEvery year Surrey Schools hosts a Digital Learner Series. As part of that series this year, we held “Ignite” sessions which include powerpoint presentations of 20 slides of 15 seconds each. It is great fun and really causes people to be succinct. Ignite sessions normally run with multiple speakers and the fast pace is both entertaining and informative.

This year, for my ignite session, I presented some thoughts on the care of our schools, the importance of teachers, how we embrace change, comments on accountability and finally on the importance and centrality of teachers to the way learning occurs in the lives of every child. I hope you enjoy and if you wish to try an ignite session, there are plenty of great examples including that of Surrey’s Karen Lirenman as other suggestions of how to try this fun format.

Enjoy and I welcome your comments.
